This weekend I read Traction by Gino Wickman. Traction is a guidebook of sorts for those looking to implement EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System).
It’s a fast read, easy to understand and includes useful charts and diagrams. I can see how this could be used as a training tool and handbook for EOS, and is probably best consumed by someone who has attended a seminar or had some introduction to the concept prior to reading the book.
If I were to give it to a client as their introduction to EOS I would recommend they start with the “Getting Started” section near the end of the book and then start back at the beginning. That may sound weird, certainly if this were a novel I would never tell someone to read the end first, but if you’re like me you like to know a little something about a business concept before you delve into each component.
Overall the book was well written, intermixing personal examples with those of other business leaders, and the organizational and planning tools are a nice addition.
