It happens all the time – I step in to help a business owner with their email campaign and learn they are making use of about 2% of the functionality Constant Contact offers. It’s hard to stay up on the latest, even in my role as someone who uses it every day – there are always new features being introduced.
Yesterday it was a business owner who had someone make a custom template for them when they first started using CC years ago. It was giving them problems so they asked me to step in and do it for them – using the ancient custom template. Since I’m Constant Contact certified, they thought I would be able to do it. Well, I couldn’t make it work either. So I chose a standard template from the broad selection CC offers, customized it for them, and built their email – they LOVE it. It’s mobile friendly, looks clean and fresh, and makes use of the listbuilding functionality now available in Constant Contact.
You can still have a custom template created for you – but if you do, please keep it up to date. In this case, the custom work was so old it didn’t match the expanded functionality Constant Contact offers. It’s worth it to have a “Checkup” or “Check In” with a certified Constant Contact professional from time to time just to be sure you’re making full use of the tools they offer.
